Winnipeg concert - new photo

I found a new photo from the concert with good quality.

Hilary Duff interview

Hilary Duff, 19, has come a long way since starring as Disney Channel's Lizzie Maguire. She's now no longer a mere actress or singer. Like so many stars these days, she's a brand, with a fashion line for teens and a cyberspace shingle hung on the teen community website Stardoll.com. But she still acts and sings: Two movies are coming, and she is touring in Canada to support her latest album, Dignity. (The U.S. leg starts Aug. 6 in Everett, Wash.) USA TODAY catches up with her:

Q: Will your tour costumes show off the body you worked so hard to attain?

A: The costumes are going to be amazing. There are four wardrobe changes, and all of them are either mini dresses or skirts. A lot of them are washed metallic fabrics with big holes cut out on the side for a retro look. There are motorcycle vests and burlesque-looking fringe micro-miniskirts.

Q: How will you maintain your healthy physique while on the road?

A: You have to discipline yourself. We ask for lots of fruits and veggies, but I do cheat in moderation with pizza.

Q: What is one concert convention you will never do?

A: Never pour water on people, because if it happened to me, I'd be (peeved).

Q: What friends and family will be joining you on the tour?

A: No one for the whole time. Traveling so much gets hard on my mom (Susan), being away from her house and her dog. She'll come for the first couple of shows with her dog and then visit a couple more times. Same with my sister (Haylie) and friends. My dogs, Jack and Lola, both come tour with me, which is fun. It makes it easier for me to be in a hotel or bus all the time.

Q: You started the tour in Canada. Any special memories from Canadian tours?

A: Canada was the first time I was ever around snow, and it could be freezing. Sometimes it was so cold we couldn't go outside for a week at a time, and I didn't want to get sick. But sometimes if I had a couple of days off, we would just go play in the snow and get big cardboard boxes to slide down hills.

Q: What fun things do you do during the show?

A: In between the new songs, there's a medley we cut together of fans' favorite (Duff) songs. And I remade Love Is a Battlefield. And then we do No Woman, No Cry in the middle of So Yesterday.

Q: How are you still like a kid?

A: We have these stupid little motorbikes we ride around backstage, and we play pranks on people.

Q: When you look out into your audience, how have the faces changed?

A: From the beginning, there of course were little girls, but there were also college-student girls there. And boys. Pretty diverse. But it has gotten older as I've gotten older.
And kids don't want to bring their parents to the concerts. I love that, because I remember when I got to do that. But it also cuts ticket sales in half. It makes everything a little smaller now during this transitional phase.

Hilary Duff Next Generation of Dance Music on MTV's LOGO Network

"The next generation of dance music has arrived ladies and gentleman, and with the emergence of networks such as MTV's LOGO, artists such as Adam Barta and Hilary Duff are breaking onto the scene in a way like never before.

The next generation of dance music has arrived ladies and gentleman, and with the emergence of networks such as MTV's LOGO, artists such as Adam Barta and Hilary Duff are breaking onto the scene in a way like never before. (...) Also holding steady on the countdown this past week was Duff's new music video for her single "Stranger", off her major label release on Hollywood Records. The convergence of major label artists like Duff with mainstream, but more independent artists such as Barta, on such a major music network, is remapping the way the industry is shaped. Both Barta and Duff have become icons in the gay community in their own right, Duff trading in her bubble gum pop image for a sexier, sophisticated sound and look, and Barta in heavy rotation on Pride Radio and hitting the #1 spot on iGay radio music charts. With the advent of digital airplay and downloading music with the hit of a button, it allows for an injection of dance music artists both independent and major, into the mainstream music culture, whereas before it was a very streamlined and competitive industry in which only those with major label support were able to succeed. Video Podcast, Episode 16

Meets and greet in June and behind the scenes at a Dignity tech rehearsal!

Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie

With all the rumours circling about a relationship between singer/actress Hilary Duff and 26-year-old Edmonton native Mike Comrie, many of the city's music and hockey fans have been united by one simple question that needs to be answered: Has Duff, 19, ever heard of this Comrie fellow?

"I have," she admits happily, though sheepishly, by phone from a plane on the tarmac at the Los Angeles International Airport.
"Mike and I met a week ago, and we've been out a couple times, and it's like, he's great, he's really nice, but we're not, like, boyfriend and girlfriend. You know, we've been to dinner a couple of times."

But will he be coming to town when she makes her appearance at Rexall Place next week?
"I'm not sure," she laughs. "Maybe you'll see him there, maybe you won't."
Celebrity blogs around the world have been abuzz since the pair was photographed leaving a Santa Monica, Calif. restaurant on Wednesday evening. The reaction from TMZ.com blog readers has been mixed from comments on Comrie's looks (is he big-headed or handsome?), to hate-filled diatribes from jilted hockey fans.
Born in Houston, Duff didn't grow up surrounded by sticks, pucks and nets, and she readily admits that she's new to the whole hockey thing.
"I was actually laughing with my friends, because I don't know anything about hockey. Maybe I'm going to have to learn," she muses.

Duff has also learned from experience about how tough it can be to maintain a relationship while on the road, touring constantly. Her balanced view of the challenges posed by her career, and the trouble it can cause when it comes to sustaining a relationship, help her to keep her personal life in order.

"I think that I've never had it any other way, you know," says Duff, who spent most of her teenage years in show business.
"Of course, when you're younger, you have little boyfriends at school and stuff, and that doesn't really count. But the one serious relationship that I did have, I was on tour for most of the time, and so was he, so it's like that is what's normal, and you just learn to deal with it.

"Sometimes it's good, you know," she continues. "It's definitely hard when you really care about someone and want to spend all your time with them to constantly be away and be in different cities and be in different time zones, and have totally different schedules. It gets kind of frustrating. But it's also nice to get to miss someone. We always want what we can't have, and living my life right now, if someone understands, then great. I'll work hard and they'll work hard, or whatever. But if not, it's not meant to be. That's my positive outlook on it," she laughs.
"Sometimes it's not always that positive."

Blog Update - 7/25/07

OMG...I 4got to tell u last x that Much Love foundation honored us (Haylie & me) for our work with rescues. We love to take animals that don't have a home and put them with people who we know need the love but who will care for and take care of their pet like a family member. The show was at the Mansion and we had a good time. I especially liked the fact that the menu didn't include any meat or animal products and Bob Saget was the Host. He is hilarious, his friend sat at our table and she was very sweet. The night was nice and I met some interesting people from different animal charities who I would love to get involved with.

Whew, Fatima is working me hard so that I can be ready for tour. I can't wait to leave! I am so hyped, we have a new band (I'll tell u about them next x and new dancers and singers, It is gonna b nice!
Gotta go.
Bye

Celebrity Q&A

Hilary Duff may be only 19, but she’s no showbiz newbie. With more than six years in the spotlight, she’s definitely got Tinseltown tenure. Ever since Duff brightened up the small screen as Disney’s Lizzie McGuire, we’ve been smitten with this bubbly blonde-gone-brunette. She has taken on movies, music, and more maturing into a lovely woman right before our eyes. And whether hobnobbing at hot spots or splurging on shopping sprees, she remains grounded and gracious. With her new clothing line, a hot CD, and a couple of upcoming flicks under her designer belt, Duff leaves us wondering what could be next. Glam chatted with the adorable starlet and got some answers.

You have such unique style! Who are some of your favorite designers?
Y&K, Blue Marine, Dolce & Gabbana, and See by ChloƩ.

Do you have a favorite pair of shoes? Handbag? Jeans?
I like Christian Louboutin shoes, Balen-ciaga bags, and J Brand skinny Jeans.

What are your favorite stores?
I go to Tryst on Ventura Boulevard in L.A., and I really like vintage specialty shops.

What do you do to feel absolutely glamorous?
I get a facial and a day at the spa.

Do you have anything you love to splurge on?
Chocolate.

Whose style do you most admire?
My mom and my sister, because they taught me how to be free in my choices and they don’t let people dictate what they should wear. I learned to be unique and be who I am.

What is your favorite look from the collection?
One of my favorite summer looks from Stuff are the suspendered pleated short shorts. They’re really great layered with our embellished tanks. Shorts are the most important style of the season and an alternative to short skirts. I think the suspender detail adds a fun touch of menswear, which is also key this season. Along with the tween Stuff collection, I'm creating my juniors range, which is planned for next year. It's for teens, college-age kids, and those just out of school who are starting their careers and want great fashion for their fast-changing lifestyle. The new collection will reflect the looks from my music videos, concerts, and red-carpet events.

You also have a new CD. Tell us about it.
It’s out now! It is amazing. For the first time, I’m singing about things that are close to me and true to what’s going on in my life. It feels good to share. Pick up a copy and you’ll see.

Who is on your iPod?
Everyone from Gym Class Heroes to the Game.

If you could duet with anyone, who would it be?
Probably someone cool like Pharell.

You’ve done so much! TV series, movies, CDs, a fashion line … what do you do to relax?
I hang out with my sister, write music, read, and try to be a regular person.

Which Hollywood hunk are you dying to work with in a movie?
The guy from Lost, the doctor—Matthew Fox.

What's your favorite:
food? Sushi or Mexican
vacation spot? Anywhere it’s sunny.Miami or an island.
movie? Drop Dead Gorgeous.
book? The Prophet.
TV show? Grey’s Anatomy.
secret indulgence? Chocolate.
word? Fabulous.

Hilary talks about Nicole and Joel

Hilary Duff has revealed she still holds a grudge against Nicole Richie for dating her boyfriend one month after they split up.

Hilary, 19, went out with Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden for two and a half years.

Then, one month later, Nicole stepped in her shoes and started dating the punk-pop rocker. The Simple Life star is now reported to be pregnant.

Hilary says she's never met Nicole, but the experience was unpleasant: 'How would it be for anyone? That's all I can say. No one would be happy about it.'

But, on the upside, she has made friends again with teen rival Lindsay Lohan, who she fell out with when they were both two-timed by singer Aaron Carter in their early teens.

'We're not like BFFs,you know?' she tells Stella magazine. 'But we were out at (Hollywood nightclub) Teddy's one night and she just came up and was like, "I think we should just talk because I'm a nice girl and I know you're a nice girl".

'It's nice to be friendly acquaintances.'

Hilary Duff on US Weekly

Hilary Duff is on the cover of the US Weekly magazine, in bikini as well! Hilary talks about her weight!

Hilary: I Was "Obsessed" Over My Weight

Hilary Duff looks so good that she was chosen for the cover of Us Weekly’s first annual swimsuit issue. But when the singer/actress was 15, she came across a press report criticizing her for her weight.

“It made me obsessed,” she tells Us of the story that drove her into a hard-core diet and exercise binge. “I would beat myself up if I had some fat.”

But when the 5-foot-2 star’s weight plummeted to around 100 pounds in 2005 (down from 130 in 2003), her sister Haylie, 22, finally intervened.

“She said, ‘Why are you being so strict with yourself?’It was like an awakening,” says Duff, who eased up on her rigorous program.

“I don’t want to be so skinny that people are like, Oh my god, she’s lost a lot of weight.”

Now, at 19, Duff tells Us that she’s content at 109 pounds. "As you get older, you just get more comfortable in your own skin."

Instead of counting fat grams or calories, she relies on a hearty helping of common sense: lots of greens, lean protein and fresh fruit.

“You need to find balance,” she says.

Hilary talks about Joel

"The super skinny starlet started dating Hilary's first love, Joel Madden, immediately after they ended their two-year relationship. There has been speculation that the singer and actress penned music about the socialite on her latest album, however Hilary denies the claims.

Now, the "So Yesterday" singer has spoken out about Joel's behavior post break-up. The 19-year-old star has had to endure watching her former love parading around his new girlfriend amid rumors of marriage and a pregnancy.

Hilary, who is one of the most well behaved starlets in Hollywood, believes that the Good Charlotte front man has changed since they ended their romance.

She said, "All of the going out he did after we broke up sort of shocked me. Like, that's just so out of character for him, and when we were together, he hated stuff like that, so I felt like I didn't really know him as well as I thought I did."

Thankfully, Joel hasn't tarnished Hilary's hopes of finding true love. She continued, "I still want the cookie-cutter American dream - to get married, have kids, and have a house with a picket fence. I still believe that marriage can work."

Hilary Duff needs shoes to feel cute on tour

"Hilary Duff has revealed she always takes an impressive shoe collection with her on tour - because sometimes she needs cute footwear to feel better about herself.

She told People magazine recently: “When you’re on tour - except for at night because you get dressed up for the show - normally you look so gross. You just throw on sweats and don’t do anything with yourself until the show.”

“After about a month of that you’re like, ‘I feel like a man. I need to be cute.’ So I have to have cute [shoe] options and put a little effort into it.”

She added her dogs are also on her essentials list: “I bring my two dogs with me. It’s hard because you’re in a different hotel room almost every day and it’s just so impersonal. I’m definitely a homebody so having them there makes it more comfortable.”

Hilary loves shopping

Popular actress-singer Hilary Duff says she still gets excited about shopping despite getting endless gifts from everyone around her.

"I definitely don't just buy what I want. When you get to that point, then you're never excited about anything? If I splurge on a bag I still get so excited about it and like, talk about it all the time. I like feeling like that," she was quoted as saying by people.com.

"Girls get cravings to get a new pair of shoes once in awhile so I definitely treat myself. I buy things for my house. I definitely feel like it's a big treat to have what I want in my house and get to enjoy it."
