On her parents recent split: “It definitely hardens you a bit. Most people go through that when they’re younger, so it was a shock. I was like, This can happen now? You just realize that your parents are human, like you.”
On writing her third album, Dignity: “This was the first time I sat down and wrote everything that I felt, when I felt it. For the first time, actually, I’ve gotten good reviews.”
On celebrity: “I’m constantly working even when I’m not on the job. Everywhere you go, people are watching you. It’s like either I stay in my hotel room or I go out and feel like I have to have makeup on.”
